This COSMIC GODDESS shoot had to be postponed three times due to inclement weather. Me, Julie, and Anna were all sooo frustrated and annoyed because all we wanted to do was create! We originally had an entirely different theme but after one of the cancellations we re-worked the entire thing and I gotta say… I’M SO GLAD WE DID! As most of you know patience is not my strong suit, but it was definitely worth the wait because this day was PURE MAGIC! Thankfully we were able to bring everything to life on January 11th (a very positive and spiritual number). It was actually supposed to rain, like, ALL WEEK (including 1/11) but we really lucked out, as it was the only day that didn’t. The shoot took place in a field near Julie’s childhood home, and in an unfortunate turn of events Anna got her car stuck in the mud (it was a surprisingly warm day). We had to hurry to catch the last bit of light for the day and finished the shoot, but had nooo idea how we were going to get Anna’s car working. Julie’s mom and brother stopped by to see if they could help, which was really nice because it was dark at this point and AAA wasn’t an option. A few minutes later we noticed a set of headlights turning into the field, driving toward us. We thought it might be neighbors coming to see what we were up to, because it’s not everyday you see a girl holding up a moon on a ladder in the middle of a field, haha. It turned out to be two young men who saw us standing around and wanted to make sure we were alright. We explained that a car was stuck and we didn’t know what to do, so me, Julie, Anna, Julie’s brother and mom, and two random guys were able to push Anna’s car out of the mud! We literally couldn’t have done it without them, and it was so unbelievably kind of them to check on us.
Anna and I are both spiritual, so seeing number patterns happens 24/7 for us. She kept exclaiming “See? I told you the universe works in mysterious ways!” I have to agree, because out of all the days to receive unexpected help when it was desperately needed, it happened on 1/11.
It was a dreamy shoot on a magical day ♥
In order to help me get into character, Julie expressed her vision…
“You are a goddess of the night sky. You are the caretaker and protector of the moon. Your job every night is to safely put it up in the sky, and you do that by climbing your ladder into the heavens. I want you to hold the moon like it’s your baby - like placing it among the stars is the only thing you have on your mind. I want you to climb the ladder like you’re on a mission to do the one thing you were destined to do.”
