NOUVEAUX
Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2020!
The last few months of 2019 were so busy and went by in a flash, and after much shuffling around I’m finally feeling settled. January is usually a month where I keep it pretty lowkey, but I actually started off the New Year by moving into a new place! #NewPlaceWhoDis? I think I’ve moved every year since 2016 and I have nooo desire to do it again anytime soon, haha. A little backstory: I moved to the city because of a job opportunity and stayed in my friend’s charming studio apartment (she moved in with her boyfriend). I really enjoyed it because I was in a beautiful neighborhood and I could walk to work, but it didn’t feel quite like home. The lease was up at the end of November, so a week before Thanksgiving I moved in with my other friend and her roommates in their townhouse. I met her a few years ago but we lost touch (life stuff, yannow?). I randomly reached out to her on Instagram to see how she was doing and it turns out she moved to Philly a few months before I did! I stayed with her for a month until I found my new place and honestly it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Everyone at the house is so upbeat and lively - there wasn’t a dull moment while I was there and I even made new friends. All of these things felt like Divine Timing and I’m so lucky and thankful to have great people in my life.
But… I still wanted my own place, and that’s exactly what I got. Scrolling on my phone at 2 AM on a Thursday (bad habit) I saw a listing on Zumper for a beautiful and affordable apartment that met all of my requirements. I was, like, “OMG… I HAVE TO LIVE HERE!” The next day I set up an appointment to view it and by Monday it was officially mine. The Leasing Manager later told me that I was the only person to respond to the ad and to view it, so it was definitely meant to be.
So, now I’m here and I’m happy! I spend virtually all of my free time getting design inspo and scouring the web for the best deals on the furniture I want. I will never for the life of me understand why room dividers and poufs are so expensive…?! (#WeirdFlexButOK) I LOVE to decorate so planning every detail and finding pieces for my apartment is fun for me. I have a lot of work to do, but when it’s all finished I’ll put together a blog post on how to decorate a small space on a budget.
These days I’m just focusing on work, decorating, and achieving my personal goals, so I’m not setting up a lot of shoots this month. I think I only have 2 scheduled and one of them is actually today (!!!) and I can’t WAIT to share it with you.
Also, I kind of like these more personal entries so I might do more in the future (:
Thank you to everyone who stops by my blog! I appreciate you! Happy New Year! I hope 2020 treats you with love, happiness, and kindness ♥
