CORAL CRUSH

CORAL CRUSH

It's nearly summertime and I absolutely looove wearing long, flowy dresses, so I'll be wearing this one A LOT. This should come as no surprise to anyone that it's from Forever 21 (hashtag, clinging onto my youth), but I'll post some non F21 outfits soon (:

Anyway...

I tried switching it up with these pictures by posing from my right side instead of my left (the side I always photograph from), and I was really happy with how the pictures turned out when I was reveiwing them later that night, until... I noticed the bird poop. Yes. On the table. Do you see it? You can't miss it. As a very detail-oriented person who puts a lot of time and effort into trying to get "The Shot," this reaaally bothered me. I contemplated cleaning it off and retaking the photos another day, or editing it out entirely.

We all like to present the best versions of ourselves in life, ESPECIALLY on social media, and it's something we all fall victim to (to an extent). I really do appreciate and enjoy social media, specifically Instagram, because that's where I get a lot of my inspiration from, but as amazing of a tool and resource Instagram is, it can also be kind of damaging to one's spirit.

It's so easy to start comparing yourself to others and over-analyzing everything you post. I always want to create quality content and I want things to be aesthetically pleasing, not only for myself, but for anyone who may stumble across my profile. However, what I don't want is to become so affected and obsessed with things looking "perfect" all the time that I end up becoming inauthentic.

So, as you can see, I didn't edit out the bird poop *shrugging emoji* #shithappens

I feel like as long as you're happy doing what you're doing (whatever that may be), and proud of the work you do, that's all that matters. Happiness is fleeting and we all deserve to feel more of it. The real kind, not the illusion of happiness we want the world to see.
