Settling is a tricky thing. It’s something we try to avoid, but also
strangely find comfort in. People settle for various reasons, but I’d
say mainly because they feel like they won’t find anything better than
what they already have. In my experience, I’ve found that when you don’t
value yourself you’re more likely to accept situations that are
unfulfilling, but you’re unable to detach from because you think it’s
what you deserve. Learning to value yourself doesn’t happen overnight,
though. It’s a process (as with everything in life), but once you come
to the realization that you don’t have to deal with
people/jobs/situations that aren’t serving you positively, your life
will change! The mind is incredibly powerful, and can be an ally or
enemy. Choose carefully what you believe in, as perception is reality,
and what you think you deserve vs what you actually deserve are
most-likely entirely different things.
