GREEN DAYDREAM

GREEN DAYDREAM

GREEN IS THE PRIME COLOR OF THE WORLD, AND THAT FROM WHICH ITS LOVELINESS ARISES.
— PEDRO CALDERON DE LA BARCA

I can’t believe I haven’t created anything in almost 2 years 🫣 I definitely felt a little rusty being in front of the camera again but it was sooo nice reuniting with my friend Colleen (@colleenshotme) who also photographed my last project.

This shoot was at a local vintage and antique rug showroom called Daylight Studio and although it was a gloomy day (I was hoping for more natural light) we still got all the shots we wanted. As I was getting ready Colleen hooked her phone up to the speaker and the first song that started playing was (Fallin’ Like) Dominoes by Donald Byrd, which plays frequently at work. Call me “woo-woo” but I’m a believer in signs and this really felt like a divine, meant to be moment.

I love VINCE’s clothing because it’s understated yet elevated, versatile, and can transform any look from day-to-night. I’m wearing the Essential Pima Cotton Crew Neck T-Shirt (Heather Grey), Cashmere Silk-Ribbed Henley (Artichoke), Satin Maxi Skirt (Artichoke), Plush Cashmere Funnel Neck Sweater (Marble), Classic Straight Coat (Camello), and Priya Leather Platform Sandal (Dune). My jewelry is by Caitlyn Minimalist, an Asian female-founded brand, and I always get so many compliments when I wear it.

It was a jam-packed, whirlwind of a morning and by the end of the shoot, which was only 1.5 hrs, Colleen and I had run around the entire studio, utilized as many props as we could, and tried as many different poses as possible (with her directing me every step of the way). I’m not joking when I say we were out of breath 😂

In the spirit of embracing the color green and what it represents (new beginnings, growth, positive well-being) I want to invest in more creative projects this year whether it’s taking a cooking class, trying pottery, glass blowing, or bringing more styled shoots to life.

Stay tuned…
