MONOCHROMATIC MOMENT

For those of you who know me, y'all know I wear black 99.9% of the time! Similarly to red, black is what I like to call a "Power Color" (even though it technically isn't on the spectrum). It's sophisticated, sexy, and goes with just about everything. The day I took this photo, my best friend and I went out to dinner for her birthday, and I wanted to wear something dressy but not over-the-top. Faux leather/wax-coated pants are a go-to piece when it comes to "elevating" a look. I paired it with a vintage semi-sheer Joie tee, fuzzy duster, and leopard print heels to add a pop to an otherwise muted outfit. When I'm searching for staple pieces (things I'll wear often), what I look for is versatility. Having the ability to dress up/dress down an outfit is a MUST. If you get really creative, you'll never wear the same outfit twice, which is the beauty of being able to express yourself through fashion and styling!
